And mumfoodcorner is my little corner of the internet!
I launched mumfoodcorner in the spring of 2018 while I was still teaching third‑grade math at Oakridge Elementary. Between lesson plans and parent‑teacher conferences I started snapping photos of the quick, kid‑friendly meals I was making for my own family. What began as a handful of posts on a personal blog quickly turned into a full‑time experiment in sharing the meals that keep my kids (and me) happy.
Fast forward to today, and mumfoodcorner reaches about 150,000 unique visitors each month. I publish twelve new recipes every month, and three of those have been featured in the “Family Kitchen” section of Good Eats Magazine (June 2022, September 2023, and March 2024). In November 2023 I released my first e‑cookbook, “One‑Pan Wonders for Busy Parents,” which has sold over 4,800 copies worldwide.
I live in the quiet suburb of Oakridge, Texas, with my husband Mark and our two little whirlwinds, Maya (7) and Leo (4). Our weekends are a blur of backyard soccer games, Sunday brunches that always include fresh basil, and evenings spent listening to vinyl records while I test out a new sauce. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me hunting for vintage cookbooks at the local flea market or teaching my kids how to fold the perfect origami crane.
If you’ve ever wondered how a busy mom finds time to experiment with flavor, the answer is simple: a lot of love, a sprinkle of curiosity, and a trusty set of kitchen tools that have been handed down from my own mother. I’m grateful for every comment, share, and email that lets me know the recipes are making a difference in real homes. Thanks for stopping by—let’s keep cooking together!
